For the most part, Lady's appearance is nothing out of the ordinary. She has short, layered black hair with bangs, a small but shapely form, and a penchant for athletics and leather, heeled boots. On closer inspection, she has various scars, one blatantly obvious across her nose and another on her upper thigh, and her eyes are two different colors; just like her father's. One deep blue, and one strikingly red. She likes her shorts and skirts short and her shirts fitted and mid- to long-sleeved.

| Personality |
Lady is a firecracker. Before her mother's death, she was a sarcastic, easygoing teenager. She took good care of her friends, and screwed around perhaps more than she should have, but was generally a good kid. When her father killed her mother, however, she did a complete 180. She devoted herself to hating him, what he stood for, and every demon that was responsible for it. Her life's goal is to rid the world of demons, including her pseudo-partner, Dante.
She gave up any and all ability to build trust and accept people into her life, closing herself off completely in her hatred and bitterness. She's very sardonic and brash, and mostly keeps to herself. She has been known to act casually with Dante, Trish and Patty, but only after knowing them for years (4, from the age I'm playing her at. Circa DMC1). She has a tendency to quickly resort to defensiveness and violence when confronted about something touchy, such as her family, eyes, connection to the Sparda family and/or Temen-Ni-Gru.

| Strengths |
Lady is a firearms expert; a gun-toting femme fatale, if you will. Acrobat, incredible aim, and generally high stamina for a human due to her inability to accept that she's not the best at something. She can easily be called suicidal. She takes missions that a normal person would refuse due to the high risk of death, only because she doesn't mind if she does die. She's generally mentally strong, but only because she has come to terms with most of her emotional issues. She acknowledges that she's pushy and demanding, that she's borderline suicidal, that her hate for demons has become an obsession--has become her life. She may hate herself for these things, but the fact that she accepts that it's who she is makes her very strong, emotionally.
Now, that's not to say there's no way to make her cry. Breaking her trust, belittling her cause. She's a twisted combination of selfishness and selflessness. She is selfish in her suicidal tendencies and hates when Dante impedes them by telling her she can't do something for fear of her getting herself killed, but she is selfless in the way she employs that. She does it so that others won't have to suffer loss of a parent (or two) to demons like she did. She does it so that her death can mean something to someone.
She generally carries a smattering of pistols that she's beyond well-trained at using, as well as an uzi and her beloved Kalina Ann. Named after her mother, Kalina Ann is a rocket-launcher that Lady carries on her back. She uses it generally as a last resort weapon, or if her enemy is far too large to handle with a mere .09 millimeter.

| Weaknesses |
Spoiler: SHE'S ONLY HUMAN. Therefore, weak to everything. Fire, lightning, drowning, blades, guns, you name it. She has NO means of healing herself, note all the scars. But, she has incredible pain tolerance and therefore would likely not let her enemy in on her very present mortality until she was bleeding out. Emotionally, she's weak to remarks about her family, likening her to her father, pretty much any insult to what she can physically accomplish. She's good about not showing it, but, it will definitely bother her.

When Mary was very young she was a normal girl, supportive of her friends, reliant on her parents (especially her mother). That changed when she was 16. Vergil began visiting her home, and she encountered a girl named Alice who led her to Devil May Cry--Dante's then-unnamed demon-hunting shop. She narrowly missed meeting him then and there, and ran off to evade becoming involved. It wasn't long after that her father, obsessed with demons and wishing to become one himself, killed her mother in front of her. Filled with a bitter hate for all things demonic, she made it her mission to stop him from his goal--summoning Hell to Earth.
After versing herself in all manners of firearms, she made the journey to Temen-Ni-Gru, a tower where he was trying to break the seal that the demon Sparda had made to separate the worlds. Which leads to where she met Dante, the half-demon son of the strongest devil who ever lived. She encounters him inside the tower, attacking him at first sight and swearing that she'll kill any demon she comes across. They fight alongside one another the second time they meet up on one of the many levels. She encounters her father, who is blatantly trying to dishearten her from her journey, and after firing shots at him she is knocked off the tower. Dante catches her and they bicker, but she shoots him in the head and discovers that he is, in fact, a demon, as well. He drops her and she saves herself by creating an anchor with her rocket launcher's bayonet, and restarts from the bottom of the tower.
The next time she finds him by what she believes to be her father's dead body. She blames him and attacks once more. She has a conversation with her dying father in which he convinces her that Vergil corrupted and manipulated him into killing her mother and becoming a demon. Lady later crosses paths again with Dante when he and Vergil are fighting over the seal, and she attacks both brothers. Her father, Arkham, enters and stabs Lady with the bayonet of her own rocket launcher (named after her mother) and breaks the seal, releasing all Hell on Earth.
Overwhelmed with guilt that she was responsible for this occurrence and even more driven to end his life, she sets off to find and destroy him and Vergil. She is stopped somewhere near the top of the tower by Dante. A fight ensues and he assures that she is incapable of defeating him, herself. She hands over her rocket launcher to help him in his fight, sure that she'll never see him again.
Dante and Vergil band together to "defeat" her father, whom she finds and delivers a final blow to, execution style. After lamenting her father's death and crying over the fact that she had to be the one to cause it, she heads back to street level where she finds Dante, distraught from his fight with his brother. They bonded and she got Kalina Ann back, helping him decide on the name for his shop; Devil May Cry. Now, she occasionally gives him odd jobs where hunting demons is involved and she can't complete the task on her own.
